Cutting Our Tree

The day after Thanksgiving we went up to the mountains to cut our Christmas tree down. It was freezing and there was tons of snow on the ground but I love cutting our own tree down each year. I guess this will not be a tradition we get to continue since we will be moving out of Idaho before Christmas next year. I love the smell of pine and having a real tree at Christmas.

Grand Canyon

This last week Colby and I drove down to Arizona for Zach and Kylie's deer hunt in the Kaibab. We had a lot of fun spending time with his family and hunting. Kylie shot her deer on the second day of the hunt and she and Colby had to drag it out all by themselves, while I carried the packs, coats and tripods. I looked homeless and they were exhausted. Then we went to the grand canyon for a day, down to Gilbert for another day and then some more hunting. It was a long but fun trip.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for the fun trip!

Colby's Mule Deer

I can't forget to post about Colby's deer. A couple weekends ago Colby had a deer tag in Utah near his friend Rusty's house. Unfortunately a few people at Rusty's house had the swine flu so I was unable to go. But my good friend Eliza was nice enough to let me stay with her in Provo for the weekend. We had a good time catching up and hanging out. Colby shot his deer on the opening day of the hunt. I wasn't there, and boys are not the best at taking pictures by themselves so we only got a few good pictures. Here is Colb with his deer.

Ribbon Wreath

I have been wanting a wreath for a while, and wanted to make it myself. Colby and I thought about doing a fall leaf wreath with all the different colored leaves around here. But I wanted something that would last and the leaves would crumble soon, so I decided to make a ribbon wreath. My first plan was to have fall colors but it turned out more like Christmas colors. I am happy with how it turned out but my thumbs are very sore from pinning all the ribbons.

Pumpkin Painting

We have not given up carving completely, but we really like painting our pumpkin each year. The pumpkin always last so much longer so we can enjoy it as a decoration for a while. Here is our pumpkin we painted this year it looks a lot like lasts years but this one is more scary.

Baby Picture

Here is our most recent picture of the baby. It is now 12 weeks and 6 days. I can't wait to stop calling it an "it" we want to know if it's a boy or girl!! Everything was good and the baby looks healthy.
