Would You Like to Donate?

Colby and I got a job at the BYU-Idaho Alumni Center.  We call Alumni from all over and ask them to donate money to the school.   It is not the most exciting job but definitely the easiest. When we are not on a call we just sit around and talk to each other.  We must be good at asking for money because we have been the top two callers every night since we started two weeks ago.
Here is a picture of Colby working hard.
He sure loves how he looks in that headset, some times he thinks he is playing Halo.

A death in the Family.. (or it Seems)

Today we had a very interesting day.  We woke up at 5:00 am to go scout for deer.  To make a long and sad story short, we were on our way home and came around a blind corner when another truck came around that same corner and hit us head on.  We both slammed on our brakes and tried to move but we still hit each other on the front left corners.  Luckily no one was hurt.  We called the police and both vehicles had to be towed.  The transmission, the radiator, and the lift all broke on the Jeep.  We found the transfer case on the ground, our front left tire was sliced and the Jeep would not go into gear! Yikes!  We sure love that Jeep!  Colby has spent so much time on it and he has put so much work into it, that it was depressing to see it broken.
Here is a picture of the jeep before the accident.
Here are some pictures of the jeep after the accident.

Home is Where the Heart is

When the semester finally finished, Colby and I went to Arizona to visit family and friends.  We had such a fun trip.  We went to the lake, Water World, the movies, visited with people and of course the mountains so Colby could look for Deer and Elk.
Here is a cool picture of an Arizona sunset when we were in the mountains.
We didn't take very many pictures but here is a look at the slide that me, Colby, my brother and even my mom went down.  It is the one on the left.  They say it is Arizona's tallest and fastest water slide.  It was six stories high and straight down.  When we were at the top we looked over the edge to see how tall the slide was and we couldn't even see the slide.  In the first few seconds of falling your back came off the slide!  Scary!  Supposedly a 40 year old woman dies on it in 2001.
Besides getting tan, we had a blast tubing at the lake.  The picture below is the fun three person tube we rode on.  No, that is not me, Colby and Lacey in the picture.  Those are some models from a picture I found on the internet, because like I said we were not thinking and did not take any pictures.  It was a really smooth ride until we hit a wave and I face planted in the water!

And The Rest is History

1. Where did you and your husband meet?
We met in Arizona, we were in the same ward when I was 13 and he was 16.  We never dated or even hung out until Colby started school at BYU- Idaho.
2. First thing you said to eachother...
Well the first thing he said to me was we should hang out sometime and this was over text, then it was something like how have you been?
3. What was your first date?
We went to Quiznos and then wanted to rent a movie but Colby didn't want to get a blockbuster account because he doesn't want anyone to have his credit card number.  Some might say he's paranoid but we like to say he's just smart! So we bought the Bourne Supremacy instead and watched it at my apartment.
4. Long or short courtship/ engagement?
We started dating the beginning of January, got engaged late October, and got married December 27th.
5. Where did you get engaged?
Colby had a very creative scavenger hunt made up and the clues were written in a wheel of fortune board so it looked like the answer to the puzzle was where I needed to go.  The final destination was the Mesa Temple.  Colby was there with two build a bears one was a bride and the other was a groom.  He also had a giant wheel of fortune board that said will you marry me?
6. Where were you married/ reception?
We were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple and had an outdoor reception at Stonebridge Manor.  It was December but for Arizona that means nothing, the weather was great.
7. Where did you honeymoon?
We went on a week cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman.  It was a blast.  We rode horses in the ocean in Jamaica and did Snuba in Grand Cayman.  Snuba is half snorkeling and half scuba diving.  We also got to be in Jamaica for new years!
